Fire, Emergency Service Work
I have been a fire chief, software product manager, sales manager, marketing director, customer service manager, team communication and collaborator, technical writer and project manager for more than 20 years. My greatest strengths are understanding customer requirements and needs; matching these with the capabilities of technology, then documenting and developing processes (with follow through) to best meet their needs to foster a positive result and experience for the customer.
I served in the Fire Service for 20 years, retiring as a Fire Chief in Pierce County. While serving as a fire chief, I was a leader in advancing and using computer technology in the fire service, I helped form a regional communications center, hazardous materials response team, worked closely with county Emergency Management development and response, and served as an adjunct faculty member at the National Fire Academy; where I co-developed the first course in the “Use of Computers in Fire Service Management”.
After retiring from the Fire Service, I continued developing technology solutions as the Vice-President, Product Manager for four software development companies. I designed and led the development of software programs to promote efficient and effective safety solutions for public safety, fire, police, and EMS, and school safety. I worked on the development team (providing design leadership) for SafetPointe, ViewPointe, and InPointe, and served as an advisor in the development of the ESD105 School Safety and Security Operations Center (SSOC).
I provide Technology Solutions assessment, management, and use, and provide training and instruction in the use of Technology and Social Media to promote school safety and collaboration. I leverages his passion for technology to optimize its use in Safety, and to use technology to further communication and collaboration by and between safety stakeholders. I can help understand and realize the value of major digital trends impacting us today and tomorrow, and applying them to efficient use and deployment. I have an intimate understanding of these trends and can help develop strategies for your operations and customer service to connect and engage with seekers; your consumers and clients.

I have served as the President of the Pierce County Fire Chiefs Association, the Parkland-Spanaway Rotary, Parkland Chamber of Commerce, Washington State Fire Chiefs Association Board Member, Yakima Air Terminal Board of Directors, Washington Pilots Association Director, President of the Yakima Chapter of the Washington Pilots Association, and member of the leadership team for Yakima Foursquare Church. Currently, I am providing Technology Coaching services to the network of churches that make up the Yakima Foursquare Family.
